A little help
with the details.
In development for iPhone. These answers explain the current product design while Label Lantern is prepared for launch.
Common questions
Good to know.
Why should I check the recognised text?
Lighting, folds, small type and unusual layouts can affect text recognition. Label Lantern lets you correct the recognised text before matching so the explanation starts from the words actually on your label.
Why was an ingredient unmatched?
The first catalogue is deliberately limited and reviewed. An unmatched ingredient may be outside its current coverage, written in an unfamiliar way, or affected by recognition. It is not proof that the product is additive-free.
What does “regionally unverified” mean?
It means Label Lantern does not have a reviewed regional statement for that match. The app can still show a clearly identified international explanation without borrowing another region’s rules.
Can Label Lantern tell me whether a food is safe?
No. Label Lantern provides educational information about recognised additives. It is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, allergy certification or a whole-food safety verdict.
Does scanning need the internet?
The documented core experience uses on-device recognition and bundled matching and explanations. Opening an official external source is optional and requires connectivity.
When can I download the app?
Label Lantern is being prepared for iPhone and is coming soon. There is no active App Store download yet.
